Adventure Book Series for Young Readers Debuts

Sophie and Scottie’s Adventures of the Monarch Mystery Now Available

SAN DIEGO, August 18, 2014—Kandon Publishing, helping authors bring their heart-centered work to the public, announced today that Sophie and Scottie’s Adventures of the Monarch Mystery (160 pages, ISBN-13 978-0991290536), the first in a series by Cindy C. Murray, is available for purchase. The imaginative story—intended for young readers from 8-12—highlights the beauty and balance of nature; the Mexican culture; and the bravery that girls can display, especially when they work together.

“I’ve always wanted to be a writer, so having this book published is the culmination of a long-time dream,” Murray said. “When my daughters were young, I found there were not many book options for them and even fewer that had an educational takeaway presented in an entertaining way. The idea behind this book and the whole series is to change that, and I’m also interested in promoting literacy.”

Readers will follow the adventures of Sophie and Scottie, who are tempted to accept a special gift from an eccentric aunt that will show them “many places.” Among other things, they must decide whether to learn to rely on their instincts with a rather mischievous map that doesn’t trust grownups.
